Hybrid Behaviour of Markov Population Models
نویسنده
چکیده
We investigate the behaviour of population models written in Stochastic Concurrent ConstraintProgramming (sCCP), a stochastic extension of Concurrent Constraint Programming. In particular,we focus on models from which we can define a semantics of sCCP both in terms of ContinuousTime Markov Chains (CTMC) and in terms of Stochastic Hybrid Systems, in which some populationsare approximated continuously, while others are kept discrete. We will prove the correctness of thehybrid semantics from the point of view of the limiting behaviour of a sequence of models for increasingpopulation size. More specifically, we prove that, under suitable regularity conditions, the sequence ofCTMC constructed from sCCP programs for increasing population size converges to the hybrid systemconstructed by means of the hybrid semantics. We investigate in particular what happens for sCCPmodels in which some transitions are guarded by boolean predicates or in the presence of instantaneoustransitions.

Applying a Simple Model of Cost Effectiveness Study of HPV Vaccine for Iran
HPV vaccine has been recently added to the Iran Drug List, so decision makers need information beyond that available from RCTs to recommend funding for this vaccination. Modeling and economic studies have addressed some of those information needs. We reviewed cost effectiveness studies to find a suitable model for Iranian population to determine the potential cost effectiveness of HPV vaccine p...

متن کاملSpatial count models on the number of unhealthy days in Tehran
Spatial count data is usually found in most sciences such as environmental science, meteorology, geology and medicine. Spatial generalized linear models based on poisson (poisson-lognormal spatial model) and binomial (binomial-logitnormal spatial model) distributions are often used to analyze discrete count data in which spatial correlation is observed. The likelihood function of these models i...
متن کاملStochastic HYPE: Flow-based modelling of stochastic hybrid systems
Stochastic HYPE is a novel process algebra that models stochastic, instantaneous and continuous behaviour. It develops the flow-based approach of the hybrid process algebra HYPE by replacing non-urgent events with events with exponentially-distributed durations and also introduces random resets. The random resets allow for general stochasticity, and in particular allow for the use of event dura...
متن کاملPredicting Users’ Requests on the WWW
We describe several Markov models derived from the behaviour patterns of many users, which predict which documents a user is likely to request next. We then present comparative results of the predictive accuracy of the different models, and, based on these results, build hybrid models which combine the individual models in different ways. These hybrid models generally have a greater predictive ...
